Abstract

Frederick (Friedrich) Neumann was a Jewish philosophy scholar from Austria who converted to Christianity in the 1920s, emigrated to the United States, and became a Congregational minister and visiting professor at Hartford Seminary. Edith Spitzer Neumann was a bacteriologist and microbiologist. This collection consists of his academic and professional papers and records from her successful work to translate and publish his sermons.

This collection is a scrapbook of various newspaper articles, mostly concerning the Presbyterian Church and Princeton Theological Seminary and dating roughly from April, 1877 to October 1879. Also included is a “Syllabus of the Lectures for 1887 on the ‘L.P. Stone Foundation’ in the Princeton Theological Seminary by Rev. Alfred H. Kellogg, D.D.”

The Harry A. Rhodes collection contains his dairies, journals, itineraries, correspondence, mission reports, and sermons from 1898 to 1965.
