Scope and Content
This collection consists of class notes and lecture notes from Birkel Thompson Aye's time at New York Theological Seminary from 1941-1944. The notes were collected in three binders. The binders also included extraneous papers dating up to 1965.

Biographical Information
Born in China in 1921, Evelyn Birkel Thompson Aye received her Masters of Religious Education from New York Theological Seminary in 1944 and attended Union Theological Seminary in New York in 1945. She received her Ph.D. from New York University in 1950 and attended the American University in Cairo, Egypt from 1950-1951.
Commissioned by the United Presbyterian Church of North America, Birkel Thompson Aye served as an educational missionary in Cairo from 1948-1968. After attending Princeton Theological Seminary in 1969 and 1970, she served as a pastor’s assistant at St. Andrew’s Church in Princeton for two years.
She served as the Supply Pastor at Rosedale Chapel from 1971-1972 and as the Assistant Pastor at Bound Brook from 1972-1974. She then became the Church Life Coordinator at South Branch Reformed Church in 1976.

The materials were originally housed in three binders and have been transferred to folders. Loose papers were placed in 1:4.
Processing Information
The initial processing of the collection was done by Kristen Nivling in February 2008. This included moving the materials from binders to folders and creating an inventory list.
