Biographical Information
Dr. John DeWitt (1842-1923) was educated at the College of New Jersey (Princeton University), Princeton Seminary, and Union Theological Seminary (New York). He served several significant churches, including the Tenth Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia, before becoming a professor of church history. Dr. DeWitt taught at Lane Theological Seminary, McCormick Theological Seminary, and Princeton Seminary (1892-1912). He also served as a trustee of Princeton University, and was awarded honorary doctoral degrees from Princeton University and Hanover College.
