Biographical Information

Gilbert Tennent was a Presbyterian clergyman in the mid-1700s. He was one of the leaders of the "Great Awakening" in Colonial America, along with Jonathan Edwards and George Whitefield. His father, William Tennent founded the first American Presbyterian theological seminary, known as "The Log College" because of its construction.
