The Donald K. Theobald Manuscript Collection
Scope and Content
This collection consists of class notes (1936-1972), correspondence, reports, bulletins, conferences, studies, ecumenical work and Christian education materials (1940-1990), sermon outlines and sermons. It covers Dr. Theobald's education and years of experience in the Church. It is divided into three series: education, ministry, and sermons. There is also a collection of his cassette tapes which have been added to the audio-tape collection (See Theobald Collection).

Biographical Information
Dr. Donald Ketcham Theobald was born in Syracuse, New York in 1917. He studied at Bob Jones College, Princeton Seminary, Syracuse University and the University of Pennsylvania, Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and finally New York University where he received a Master's degree in education and a Doctorate in Education in 1972. Dr. Theobald was an active ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church, organizing Osceola Presbyterian Church and serving Huntington Valley Church and the Presbyterian Church of Harrison, New York. He also served as a chaplain in the US Navy - both active duty and in the reserves. Dr. Theobald retired to Director of the Sea Grove Conference Center in Cape May, New Jersey where he had been an active participant for many years. He was active in Christian education, inter-faith work, and the Presbyterian charismatic movement.

This collection was processed, and the original finding aid was written by Douglas F. Denné in March of 1996, under the direction of William O. Harris, Archivist. The finding aid was edited by Sarah Seraphin and Daved Anthony Schmidt in June of 2009.
