There are no restrictions on access to the Docherty Manuscript Collection. The papers are available for review according to the normal rules of the Seminary Archives and Special Collections.
Biographical / Historical
The Rev. Dr. George MacPherson Docherty (b. 1911) in Glasgow, Scotland received his M.A. in 1935 and B.D. in 1938 at Glasgow University. He subsequently received his D.D. in June 1950 from Temple University and his D.L. in June 1957 from Monmouth College. He was minister at Sandyhills Church of Scotland, 1939-44, chaplain with the church of Scotland huts and canteens, 1943, Minister Co-adjutor at the Barony, 1944-47, minister at North Church, Aberdeen, 1947-50 and minister at The New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, Washington, D.C., March 30, 1950.
