The Frederick Edward Christian Manuscript Collection
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of sermon manuscripts and audio cassettes of messages by Dr. Christian. The manuscripts were given to the Seminary Archives in November of 1995 and the audio cassettes were given in the spring of 1997. These items were organized as a manuscript collection of the Seminary Archives soon after they were received. The collection is currently housed in three archival boxes (2.5 linear feet).

There are no special restrictions placed on the accessibility of this collection. It is available for the use of library patrons under the normal rules and conditions of the Seminary Archives.
Biographical / Historical
Frederick Edward Christian (born 1907) was educated at the College of Wooster (B.A., 1929), Princeton Seminary (Th.B., 1934), Princeton University (M.A., 1934), and Lutheran Theological Seminary, PA (graduate studies, 1934-39). Dr. Christian also received honorary doctorates from the College of Wooster and from Lycoming College. He has served many years as a Presbyterian (PCUSA) pastor and as a missionary to Africa. Dr. Christian also has served as on the board of trustees of Princeton Seminary since 1955.
