Biographical / Historical
James Grier (circa 1750-1791), pastor at Deep Run, near Doylestown, Pa. Nathaniel Grier (1760-1814), younger brother of James Grier and pastor at the Forks of Brandywine, Chester County, Pa. John Nathan Caldwell Grier (1792-1880), second son of Nathan Grier, pastor at the Forks of Brandywine, Chester County, Pa. William Harris Templeton (1824-1910), son of Elizabeth Grier Long, Princeton Theological Seminary Graduate (Class of 1850), and missionary to the Creek Indians for seven years before entering on a series of pastorates in Southern Illinois. His maternal grandmother was a daughter of James Grier.
