Scope and Contents
This collection consists of three copies of a typescript of Patterson's 250 page memoir. These items were organized as a manuscript collection in May of 1997.

Biographical / Historical
Robert Patterson was born in County Donegal, Ireland. He received his education at Londonberry and at the Seminary of the Reformed Presbyterian Church (Covenanters) in Philadelphia. He began his ministry in 1851 with the Reformed Presbyterian Church and came into the Presbyterian Church (Old School) in 1866. During his career he wrote hundreds of published reviews and articles.
