Processing Information:

This collection of papers was gathered from a number of sources. Correspondence received by Mr. Mackie during the time of his leadership of a student protest at the Seminary, as well as his autobiographical essay, "Signs of Spring at Princeton Seminary, A.D. 1909," were removed from the library's collection of Professor Lefferts Loetscher's papers. Other correspondence from the Mackie Papers was photocopied from the collection at the Presbyterian Historical Society, and given to the Seminary Libraries in March of 1993. Other items were photocopied from the John Mackay Manuscript Collection and from archival office files. Still other materials were given by Dr. Horace T. Allen, Jr. in July of 1996. This item was processed, and the original finding aid was written in July of 1996, by Raymond D. Cannata, under the direction of William O. Harris, Archivist. The finding aid was edited by Sarah Seraphin and Daved Anthony Schmidt in May of 2009.
