Materials Specific Details
This collection consists of a notebook of 18th century sermon manuscripts. The spine of the notebook is marked "Sermons of Dr. Staughton," and affixed to the second leaf is an etching of the Rev. William Staughton. Only one of the twelve sermons contained in the notebook gives any indication of the date or occasion of its composition. The first sermon is marked July 11, 1762, Philadelphia. Thus far the only Rev. William Staughton who we have been able to identify was born in 1770, several years after the first sermon in this notebook appears to have been delivered
Administrative Information
This notebook was given to the Seminary by Guy B. Mallard of Western Theological Seminary (MI) in 1985. It was organized as a manuscript collection in October of 1996.
