Scope and Content This collection consists of ten letters written by Mr. Webster. Eight of the letters were addressed to his brother while he was studying at Princeton, 1832-1834. Two other letters regarding David Brainerd, are addressed to Allen H. Brown (class of 1843) in 1847 and 1851.

These include significant correspondence regarding a controversy over Governor and U.S. Presidential candidate Adlai Stevenson's church affiliation. Among these papers are numerous letters (both originals and photocopies) written by Stevenson and by his son. There are also numerous news clippings and essays on the subject.

Volume one contains notes on the Hebrew text of the Old Testament, as well as financial notes from a church in Kersey (1896-97). The second volume is a manuscript concordance of Ecclesiasticus.
